Privacy Policy
Last updated 21 August 2026
This policy explains what personal data FollowHire collects, why, who it reaches, and what you can do about it. It is written to match how the platform actually works — if something here does not match what you see, tell us and we will fix one or the other.
1.Who is responsible for your data
FollowHire is operated by Syncfinite Technologies Pvt Ltd ("we", "us"), which is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Registered office: 931–932, Sun Gravitas, Radio Mirchi Road, Vejalpur, Ahmedabad, Gujarat – 380015. You can reach us about anything in this policy at info@followhire.in, support@followhire.in.
2.What we collect
We collect only what a hiring platform needs to function:
- Account details — your name, email address, and phone number if you provide one. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and Google account identifier from Google; we never receive your Google password.
- Profile details — headline, location, years of experience and skills, which you enter yourself.
- Resume content — everything you put in a resume you build or upload: employment history, education, projects, links and languages. Uploaded resume files and generated PDFs are stored as files.
- Application activity — the jobs you apply to, save, and the status of each application.
- Payment records — for paid features, the amount, status and reference of a transaction. Card and bank details are handled by our payment gateway and never reach our servers.
- Technical and usage data — pages viewed and general activity, collected through analytics as described below.
3.Why we use it
Each purpose below is the reason we hold the data above; we do not use your data for anything else without asking you first.
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To match you to roles and score how well your profile fits a job.
- To send an application, and the resume attached to it, to the employer you chose.
- To build, score and export your resume.
- To take payment for paid features and keep a record of it.
- To send service messages — verification, password reset, application updates and notifications you have turned on.
- To detect misuse, moderate listings and keep the platform free of fraudulent employers.
4.Who your data reaches
Your details go where you send them, and to the service providers we need to run the platform. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
When you apply to a job, the employer for that job receives your application and the resume you attached. That is the point of applying, and it is the only routine way your profile reaches an employer — employers cannot browse or search candidate profiles on FollowHire.
An administrator may make a candidate profile visible to a specific employer as part of a curated shortlist. Where that happens it is a deliberate, logged action, not open search access.
We use these processors, each handling only what its job requires:
- Razorpay — payment processing.
- Google — sign-in (if you use it) and website analytics.
- Anthropic — the AI features. When you use resume scoring, rewriting, tailoring, cover letters, interview preparation or job-description assistance, the text you submit is sent to Anthropic's API to produce the result.
- Cloudflare R2 — storage for uploaded files, resume PDFs and images.
- Our email provider — delivery of the service messages described above.
5.AI features
The AI features are optional and run only when you ask for them. The text you submit is processed to generate the output and returned to you; the result is a suggestion, not advice, and you should read it before using it.
AI output can be wrong. Nothing generated by these features is checked by a human before you see it.
7.How long we keep it
We keep your account and profile data for as long as your account exists. Applications and their history are kept while the account exists, because both you and the employer may need to refer to them.
Payment and invoice records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after an account closes.
When an account is deleted, the profile, resumes and saved jobs attached to it are deleted with it.
8.Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and who it has been shared with.
- Ask us to correct or complete anything inaccurate — most of it you can edit yourself from your account.
- Ask us to erase your data and close your account.
- Withdraw consent you have given, as easily as you gave it.
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated.
- Complain to us, and if unsatisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India.
Account deletion is not yet self-serve. To close an account and erase the data attached to it, write to info@followhire.in, support@followhire.in from the address on the account and we will action it and confirm when it is done.
9.Keeping it safe
Passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form. Traffic to the site is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is limited to staff who need it, and administrative actions are recorded in an audit log.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as the Act requires.
10.Children
FollowHire is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will remove it.
11.Grievance officer
If you have a complaint about how your data is handled, contact our Grievance Officer at info@followhire.in, support@followhire.in. We will acknowledge your complaint and respond within the period the Act requires.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
12.Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Where a change materially affects how your data is used, we will tell you directly rather than relying on you to notice.
